Full Basket Belize was founded in 2005 when a group of friends pooled donations to create a scholarship fund for students of Stann Creek, Belize. Since then more than 550 scholarships have been awarded and dozens of community grants have been provided — all thanks to your donations.

FBB has 501c3 non-profit status in the USA, so donations may be tax-deductible. More importantly, since FBB is a purely volunteer-run non-profit organization, every dollar donated goes much further than it would otherwise.

  1. Make a secure donation at PayPal using your credit or debit card or your own PayPal account.
  2. Become a sustaining donor at PayPal and give any amount monthly, starting at $1/month.
  3. **Highest impact**: Mail a paper check to: Full Basket Belize, 6016 NE Birch St., Hillsboro, OR 97124. (This option also saves FBB on processing fees.)
  4. Corporate Match.  Check with your employer to see if they will match or double your donation.  We are registered with Benevity, Your Cause, and Amgen Foundation Matching Gifts Program.  We will register with other organizations as requested — just contact us.
  5. If you have a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), you can request a donation be sent directly to Full Basket Belize at 6016 NE Birch St., Hillsboro OR  97124, EIN# 54-2161114. A Donor Advised Fund offers tax benefits to support Full Basket Belize now and in the future, as a designated successor.
  6. Make a Qualified Charitable Donation (QCD).  If you have a qualified retirement account and are 73 years old or older, then you are required to withdraw a minimum amount from your qualified retirement accounts every year.  (This is called a Required Minimum Distribution, or RMD, and is taxable.)  If you donate all or any part of your RMD directly from your qualified retirement account to a non-profit, such as Full Basket Belize, then you won’t have any tax liability for the QCD!  Donating funds directly from your retirement account to your favorite charity is easy, and all the money goes to the charity, none to the government.
  7. Gifts Through a Will, Trust, or Retirement Account:   Bequests are the most common form of planned giving and cost the donor nothing during the donor’s lifetime.   To designate Full Basket Belize as a beneficiary of your trust, will, or retirement account, simply include language like “I give [percentage or dollar amount] to Full Basket Belize, a nonprofit organization with EIN 54-2161114, for its general use and purpose.”
