The Board of Directors of Full Basket Belize (FBB) is very excited to announce that we are now providing post-secondary scholarships to deserving FBB high school graduates.  The Shawn Hunton Memorial University Scholarships are given in memory of Shawn Hunton, the son of Full Basket Board member Jane Hasenmueller and her family and friends.

These scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis, beginning with seniors graduating in June 2025. We are pleased to announce our 2025-26 recipients:


Shawn Scholars

Anadaly Gonzalez, who graduated with honors from Orange Walk Technical High School, will be attending Corozal Junior College where she will study English with hopes of becoming a university professor of English.

Recent honors graduate of Eden SDA High School in Cayo district, Jediah Martinez, will be attending the University of Belize.  She will be a pre-medical student, working toward her goal of becoming an obstetrician-gynecologist.

This year’s valedictorian at Escuela Secundaria Técnica Mexico in Corozal district, Said Patt, will be attending Corozal Junior College and studying mathematics, chemistry, and physics.  His goal is to become an engineer or professor in the STEM field.

Karina Martinez, 2025 graduate of Independence High School in Stann Creek district, will be studying science at the University of Belize.  She intends to become a medical lab phlebotomist, combining her passions of health care and science.
